Rixos The Palm is located on the easternmost tip of the The Palm’s crescent. It might be a little out of the way for the most of us, but the drive to the end of the island is totally worth to discover this magnificent place.
We came down for Saturday brunch in À La Turca restaurant, an ultimate location to rediscover the Turkish culinary art. The resort’s main restaurant À La Turca presents an open buffet concept that serves a variety of international cuisines including the authentic Turkish cuisine with delicacies such as grills, kebabs, and mezzes from Eastern Anatolia, the Aegean and the Black Sea regions.
From dolma, pide and kumpir to döner kebab, homemade baklava and Turkish Delights, you are invited to savour authentic tastes from the Anatolian cuisine alongside a selection of beverages. All carnivores out there can expect several live cooking stations where they will experience the finest meat prepared in authentic way.
Despite the fact that Turkish cuisine is famous for its flavorful and versatile meat variations, À La Turca has a variety of fish and vegetarian options. I absolutely loved the cold mezze station with a huge array of mouthwatering salads and light appetizers. For the main course I indulged in some grilled to perfection zucchini, potato wedges and eggplant slices, topped with a light lemon sauce.
Then, we finished our outstanding culinary experience with a visit to the dessert station with a variety of sweet offerings, including famous Turkish Delights, cakes, fruits and of course a live ice cream station to provide that authentic touch.
Apart from phenomenal food and beverages, it is worth to mention beautiful seating in a peaceful terrace surrounded by greenery of the garden. The terrace is not quite al fresco, but the huge glass walls give this outdoor feeling without being disturbed by the pool noise.
From the appetising selection of mezze to its rich main courses, À La Turca is with no doubt one of the finest Turkish culinary experiences in the city.
